Banff Springs Hotel; looks lovely doesn’t it? 5 minutes later I fell down some wooden steps, bruising my shins and have been sent back to the hotel to rest with an ice pack. It’s a good chance to do battle with the guest laundry. I’m allowed to rejoin the group for lunch.
Banff Springs Hotel is as magnificent inside as outside. This is the dining room, at the back of which we had lunch. We aren’t staying here because a) very expensive b) rooms are small with retro-added bathrooms the size of an airplane toilet. The shops contain exquisite gear with matching price-tags.
We’re at the Moose Hotel which is new and has large suites.
The hotel looks like a terrifying gothic castle - the perfect place for a vampire convention.
